There are square glass buttons at the neck, but it actually closes with snaps. It also has buttons at the end of the sleeves. The dress has no other openings besides the snaps at the neck. it is in good condition overall. There are a few snags in the rayon

My dog asks for this toy everyday and sometimes she wants to play with it when it's not vibrating but the shaking feature makes it extra fun for her, but it does require daily charging.
