Pennisetum 'Rubrum', 3LA hybrid between P. macrostachyum and P. setaceum, Pennisetum Rubrum is an ornamental fountain grass, bearing green foliage which changes to striking dark red. In late summer to early autumn these stems carry fluffy bottlebrush shaped flowers of silver and red, which bring movement and colour to the garden, before eventually turning brown. These plumes are also wonderful cut or dried as part of a floral arrangement.
